I found an old VCR repair book in my back alley today. I have not done allot of painting on paper so I gave it a shot. This painting is a mix of graphite, gouache, and acrylic and is titled : Re-Illustration by assembly. It focuses on the idea of what happens when we overbuild and use up all of our natural resources. What then? Maybe we can figure out how to re-make natures gifts like fruit.
This documentary project spearheaded by Designer/Artist/Publisher Mark Murphy began in the summer of 2003. Along with interactive agency Ninthlink.com and Film/motion graphics team Ten-Stories.com. Luckily I had the privilege to hang out and film 6 amazing artist. Ranging from from all different walks of life and style the list includes Rob and Christian Clayton, Martha Rich, Jeff Soto, Joe Sorren, Tim Biskup, Camille Rose Garcia and Kevin Christy. This films captures all of these artists at different times in their professional careers. I think everyone at the Planet Illogica Release party had a amazing time. I had the priveledge to meet alot of new great artists and had time time to hang out with old friends and new ones. This year during San Diego’s super geek out storm trooper star trek kicking Comic-Con. The new artist based community, Planet Illogica and Mark Murphy threw a Release party art + music extravaganza. This party was certain to give you wipe lash. Filled will be movie stars, artists, superheros, and live music performed by Taylor Bates composer of “300″ and “Watchmen”. Artist Ron English painting on a female nude models. With an art exhibition featuring over 30 paintings from artists around the world I was honored to be a part of this Art stopping event.
I just finished this new painting titled “Melted Dreams”. This painting brings light to the death of Walt Disney. Many people on there death bed speak about all of the things in life that they wish the did or things they still want to accomplish. This 8×10 oil on wood panel shows all the the dreams and light slipping away from the man as he draws closer to the end of you life. I believe that the legacy of Walt Disney will never be lost in history. It will be like cavepaintings fro the egytian times, Forever.
